I was kind of sad as farmers markets and bountiful summer produce disappeared with the arrival of fall. However, I’ve surprised myself with the fun, delicious, creative meals I’ve been preparing with fall veggies.
I’m no expert in the kitchen–I know basics, but I’m trying to expand my cooking abilities and knowledge. Before I met Andy I rarely ate meat, so I didn’t really have a lot of experience cooking it with the exception of stir frys. My cooking pretty much consisted of using the stove top. Roasting, baking, broiling, smoking, and grilling weren’t really in my cooking vocabulary. Andy still pretty much does the smoking and grilling, but I’m incorporating more recipes that utilize the oven.
I really want to learn cuts of meat. Red meat intimidates me for some reason because I don’t know the difference between chuck, flanks, filets or roasts. So I’m determined this year to figure it out.
What’s your favorite fall recipe?
